Has anybody had the Gardasil vaccination or has a child who has? my wife would like our fourteen year old to get it, but I am not certain it is safe. I'd like opinions/advice please

Most people agree that it is safe, but there have been media reports about some women experiencing side effects. This is a new vaccine which makes me nervous, but I am leery of vaccinations in general. At 14 your daughter is almost an adult, what does she think about the idea?

I'm not fan of excessive vaccines. At 14 your child should not be at risk for HPV (the virus that it protects against and is sexually transmitted.) Maybe wait a year or so to see where some of these early reports of side effects lead to?
